Summary:Discussion after the Feb. 14, 2005 explosion in a coal mine in Fuxin city, Liaoning, that killed more than 200 workers. Chatroom voices were mixed: while expressions of grief for the dead dominated, Internet surfes indirectly questioned workplace security in China; some surfers asked if the situation had been better under Mao Zedong's rule. Others accused the U.S. of having an even worse record of workplace security, drawing parallels to the 1980s accident in Bhopal, India, that killed thousands.
